Some crudely drawn candles.

Stored in many of the game's archives is what seems to be a guide for creating textures.

blueguide.bmp

A blue variant of the master guide texture.

greenguide.bmp

A green variant of the master guide texture.

redguide.bmp

A red variant of the master guide texture.

Sec_mes.bmp

Menu Graphics

Menu Tabs

Tabs used for various menu selections. In order, they are: Main, Report, Folio, Chapter, Save. The Report Card was consolidated to the main pause menu. In the final game, the chapter select is a debug feature and you can only save at specific checkpoints.

Report Card

An unused Report Card menu. It's accompanied by House Point status bars for each house. The green question mark counter is for how many secret areas the player has found. This used to be a key aspect of gameplay at one point.

House Cup Sand

Purple sand, not used by any of the houses.

Folio Magi Arrows

Early arrow icons for the Folio Magi. The first set are neutral, second are when pressed down, and third are when hovering over.

Card Combo Menu

Two graphics labelled as 'combolist' small and large. Card combinations are used as attacks in other versions of the game, but are not seen at all in this version.

Spell Icons

Unused spell icons. These are from when the game required you to open a menu and manually select which spell you wanted to use. In order, they are: Flintifors, Avifors, Verdimillious, Alohomora, Wingardium Leviosa, Flipendo, Incendio, Lumos, Petrificus Totalus, Reparo, 'GreenLeaf', and 'Trans'. Trans stands for Transfiguration. This icon also goes by the name 'Ecto' and 'Default'. Ecto may be an early name for the Skurge spell (Skurge is used to remove ectoplasm goo, and doesn't appear until Chamber of Secrets). 'GreenLeaf' is defined as the main icon in a script named FireCrackerIcon.

HUD Elements

An icon for a chocolate frog, suggesting they could be held for later use.

Icons for a health potion. Wiggenweld potions are eventually pick-up items in Chamber of Secrets.

Icons for the troll boss. These are meant to be attached to a health meter. The level in the final game requires no health meter, leaving these unused.

Spells

There are two visual effects for the unused Verdimillious spell. The animation speeds are estimated.

This particular effect was going to be used for the Avifors spell and would have been shown in the E3 demo.

Several dozen portraits were made to decorate the Hogwarts walls and a good chunk of them were left unused.

Gryffindor Common Room

A drawn portrait of the Fat Lady. The final game oddly uses a cropped film screenshot instead.

A basic looking chandelier. It can be found hanging in an inaccessible section of the common room.

Astrology

Astrology was a prominent theme in the novels, and many elements were subsequently cut to better suit the film. The astronomy tower is retained in other versions of the game.

Graphics for all twelve Zodiac signs. They are Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Capricorn respectively.

A variant of the Orion constellation.

Four star chart tapestries.

Privet Drive

All of the textures here except for the torn letter are from an archive named HP_PD.utx.

Torn Letter

Textures depicting a torn up letter from Hogwarts, which suggests a quest to find the pieces. There is a menu icon, along with a background and collected version of each piece. The stretched out graphic is an early version of the letter's hud icon.

Ceiling

A simple ceiling texture intended for the entire house.

Door

Just the one door for the whole house.

Window

A transparent and gradient version are available for the living room windows.

2001 E3 Demo

Remnants of an E3 demo are scattered throughout the game files. The cut Privet Drive level is actually from this demo. There are also some E3 specific scripts for characters, which can be found on the Scripts subpage.

Main Menu

The entire game had a different title screen.

There are various menu options for this demo title screen.

Information Graphics

HPEdit

HPEdit is a modified version of a program called UnrealEd. Updated versions of these icons can be found in the second and third games.

The Bad Size texture can be seen underneath all of the various Quidditch maps forming short lines, suggesting it was also used as a measurement tool.

The last image here is from an archive named Brush Builder. These are the icon functions in order:

Menu Up/Down

Collision Off/On

Light Off/On

Player Off/On

Unreal Leftovers

FractalFX.utx

This archive contains graphics that are very out of place for a Harry Potter game. Sorcerer's Stone was built using the original Unreal Engine, and this leftover file was normally included in its collection of assets.

Fonts

This is Unreal's font, not seen during normal gameplay.

A font used in Unreal's main menu that goes unused in this game.

A Harry Potter themed font. It's replaced with a generic font in the final game. This font can be seen in a few prerelease screenshots.
