The Universal Constant Mac OS

Open the Application Chooser by pressing VO-F1-F1 or, if you’re using VoiceOver gestures, double-tap near the left edge of the trackpad. Choose Finder in the Application Chooser. You can also use Mac OS X shortcuts by pressing Command-Tab and then using the arrow keys to navigate to the Finder. If a Finder window was open, you go to that window. By the way, I don’t want to give the impression that this is just a Mac OS 11 Big Sur thing — it’s not. This advice is universal for any operating system update, not just Big Sur. There’s always a risk of temporary incompatibilities with any operating system update (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, et al).

Mumble Universal Binaries for Mac OS X

Since the 1.2.3 release of Mumble, the default packaging for Mac OS X only includes 64-bit Intel (X86-64) binaries for Mumble and Murmur. The reason behind this move was that the majority Macs sold since the switch to Intel processors (that is, except the first generation of thevarious Mac families and the Mac Mini) have X86-64 support.

Universal binaries that are built to run on 32-bit Intel (i386) and PowerPC (ppc) are still provided, but don't include all extra 'nice-to-have' featuressuch as the overlay.

First of all, here's the userland question: Disabling mouse acceleration in Mac OS X @ superuser To summarize: I want to have linear mouse response on Mac OS X. That is, no acceleration; an adjustable but constant pixels pointer moves / meters mouse moved ratio. I have no idea how to go about this. (Well, not true, but it's better to start from scratch.). Snapshots are also regularly made available, though perhaps not as rapidly as the 64-bit versions are. They can be found in the snapshot folder of mumble.info:

All universal snapshots follow the naming scheme Mumble-Universal-Snapshot-VERSION.dmg, where VERSION is an internal description of the version of the snapshot.(It is the output of 'git describe' at build-time.)

You can install from this CD onto any of the following computers: Power Mac G4, Power Macintosh G3, PowerBook G4, PowerBook G3 (except the original PowerBook G3), iMac, and iBook.

I assume that when the above compatibility rating was written there are newer G4's this will not boot up and install to. For example; the Mirror Door G4 & G4 eMac or any late model G4 that shipped with either Mac OS 9.2.2 or can run 9 in Classic mode only.
